All About Kaleb!

I've been meaning to do this for a long time! Kaleb is growing and changing so much everyday! Here are a few things about him right now... (I will probably add more as I think of them!)

~Loves to wave bye-bye and blow kisses…to everyone…everywhere! If he finds either of our sets of keys at the house he'll grab them, wave and say "bye-bye" and blow kisses to us while heading to the front door!
~Loves to bang things…anything…he got a toy hammer for Christmas and likes to “fix” everything in the house…our house will never be the same again. He got a hold of the remote control the other day and started banging it on the front door.
~Loves to eat! He always wants to eat…as soon as he wakes up in the morning and from his naps…and anytime he sees food, anyone else eating food, anything that resembles food, etc. He’ll sign the word eat which is bringing his fingers to his mouth.
~Loves to feed Maverick…so Maverick loves him! He will share just about anything except his yogurt bites by throwing it on the floor.
~Loves to sing and dance…When we sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider he’ll make his spider climb up the water spout and fall down (he’ll slam his hands down onto whatever is in front of him to give it that extra special effect). His other favorite song is If You’re Happy and You Know It…claps his hands right along with the song. We’re working on stomp your feet now!
~Loves to throw things! Especially balls, but anything will do! That’s a fun game to play…Kaleb throws things and Mama and Dada pick it up and give it back to him!
~Loves to climb already! He has figured out this walking thing and is now onto climbing. Climbs on boxes, toys, the toy box, all his cars, his chairs, etc. I have to watch him all the time!
~Loves to play outside! Ask him, “Do you want to go outside?” and every time he will respond “shyeah!” (I guess that means yeah?!?) and run to the front door. And you better be ready to take him outside to play!
~Words he can say: mama, dada, ball, dog (do), shoes (shs), hi, bye-bye, bath (ba), nana (could mean nana or banana), papa, night-night (ni-ni), car (ca)
~Things he can do: blow on his hot food, get a tissue and wipe his nose when you tell him “wipe your nose”, go to the changing table when I tell him “lets go change your diaper”, wave bye-bye, blow kisses, smiles a big smile every time he sees a camera, blow bubbles in the bathtub, purr at the cat (and call it a dog), clap his hands, play peek-a-boo
~When he’s tired, Kaleb will let you know! He will go get his “blankie” wherever it is, come find you and sign the word “eat”, meaning he wants his milk. When you give him his milk he will walk into his bedroom and stand by the rocking chair and wait for you to hold him while he drinks his milk. I’ll rock him while he tries with all his might to stay awake enough to finish his milk. When he finishes the milk and you think he’s sound asleep…think again. He lights up! Talking, waving, kissing, hugging, smiling, laughing…this is when he’s the sweetest! Eventually I just have to put him in his crib and he’ll talk himself to sleep.

Christmas all around!

So this was officially Kaleb's second Christmas, but since he was so young last year, this is the first one he really enjoyed! We had several family Christmas celebrations to go to, so here are some pictures of us making the rounds!
Kaleb and James at Mimi and Grandpa's house with their new backpacks.

Back at home we finally decorated the Christmas tree. (Had to get through the birthday party first!) Here's Kaleb helping Daddy put the star on top.

Since he's a year old now, Kaleb gets to face forward in his carseat. Here is the first glimpse of him facing forward. He was very curious as to what was going on.

Next stop was Orange, TX... Here's Kaleb opening presents at Grandma Linn and Grandpa David's house. He liked playing with the wrapping and ribbons! Mommy liked the clothes!

My big boy sitting on the fireplace...

Over at Aunt Debi's house Kaleb got more presents!

Christmas Day! Since Kaleb stayed up so late at Aunt Debi's house, he decided to sleep in until 9am on Christmas Day! He obviously didn't get the whole Santa thing yet!

Santa Claus came to see us all! Even Maverick!

And my sleepy baby finally woke up (and in a really good mood)! He found his car right away and we couldn't get him out of it! I think he opened just about every other present sitting in his car.
more presents...

We had one more family Christmas in Texas City, but it seems I was too busy chasing Kaleb around to get any pictures! :( Overall Kaleb had a very merry Christmas! It's hard to believe he's grown so much in a year! Kaleb on Christmas day 2007

Birthday Party!

Kaleb had a wonderful first birthday party! Here are some highlights of the day!
Some of the decorations...
monkey cupcakes...
jungle cookie cake...
blowing out the candle...

eating the cake...
All clean! I'm ready to open presents now!
diving in!!!
Every time Kaleb would open a present and start to play with it, someone would take it away and give him a new one to open. He kept looking to see where they were taking all his toys. As soon as he finished opening everything, he went straight to the hallway where all his new toys were waiting!
riding his fire truck...
Thank you to everyone! Happy first birthday sweet boy! We love you!

Kaleb's First Thanksgiving!

Kaleb had a great Thanksgiving break this past week. Here are a few of the highlights...

Kaleb in the PlayPlace at McDonald's...

New tricks!! Watch to see what I can do...

OUCH! Kaleb was walking around cousin Troy's backyard, tripped and hit his head on the concrete porch. Here's the aftermath...
Kaleb and Daddy...

Daddy helping Kaleb take his first pony ride!

More of the pony ride... He really enjoyed it! More than most of the other kids!

Our sweet little boy! I love these pictures!

Kaleb hugging Mommy... We don't get too many of these, so we have to enjoy the ones we get!
The family picture...

Kaleb loves to play peekaboo. Here he is when we were out to breakfast. He put the napkin over his face and would pull it back off really quick!

Stay posted for some birthday pictures soon! Our little son is about to be 1!

11 Months!

Kaleb's already 11 months old!!! (ok, tomorrow really!) He's growing up soooo fast. It seems like every day he's learning something new. When we got home this evening it wasn't raining!!!, so we played out in the front yard for a little while. Kaleb liked it when Mommy would hold the leaves up high and let them fall on him. Here are a few pictures of him playing with the leaves! His shirt is wet because he was "drinking" his water on the way home. "Drinking" consisted of him getting a big mouthful, gargling it, and blowing bubbles in his mouth with it until it was all over him!

Here's a video of him when the neighbors cat came to play. He keeps calling it a dog but purrs at it...

After bath...getting ready for bed...one happy baby!

Trick or Treat!

Our little astronaut enjoyed his first Halloween tonight at our church with the cousins. Here are a few pictures of the fun!
The whole crew!
Mr. Joel...

Kaleb in the petting zoo! He didn't really pet the animals, but he liked to look at them.

Aurora rode the mechanical bull and didn't even fall off!
The big boys!

Aurora jumping and twisting like a ballerina! Higher than anyone else!
Kaleb decided to join in the fun!
Kaleb played his first carnival game. Pick up a ducky out of the water! Right up his alley! He liked it until he realized the ducky wasn't the real prize and he had to give it back to get a piece of candy! Who needs candy when you have a rubber ducky!
Joel again! He chased those balls all night long!

The little boys together in the car. Aurora ran around collecting balls to turn it into a ball pit for them.

Kaleb and Daddy driving the car! Slow down!

You know the boys are getting tired when they're laying on the floor in the middle of a room full of toys.

Sweet Kaleb!

Giving Mommy kisses!
Kaleb had a blast, but was exhausted. Here he is when we got home!

Happy Halloween!
