Happy Second Birthday Kaleb!

On Saturday, December 12th, we celebrated Kaleb's second birthday with a party at home with some family and friends. We had talked and talked to Kaleb about his birthday and the party so he couldn't wait for it to start! He made us sing "To you!" to him all week long while he pretended to blow out the candles. He could name all the kids that were coming to the party. And he told everyone all week, "I two!" Here are some of the highlights of the party...

This was his cupcake train!
A present from Mom and Dad...
...a panoramic shot of the party room... (a little blurry, but you get the picture...a photo timeline train, some snacks and decorations on the back table, and his cupcake train on the bar)
Kaleb had a blast playing in the backyard with some old toys...
and some new!
This was Kaleb's cupcake!
And he blew out those candles like a pro!
He's not a big fan of cake, but he did like eating the M&M's off of the top! (He called them "eggs" all day long! I don't know why! We don't give the boy much candy I guess!)
Although he didn't eat much cake, he did enjoy a big bowl of ice cream! And then it was time to open presents...
Kaleb had a blast and has talked about his party ever since! Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!

Snow Day!

Today was a beautiful snowy day in Houston! Kaleb and I went to school this morning, but due to the inclement weather expected we got to go home early. It started snowing on us in Baytown about 8:30 am! All the kids at school were sooooo excited. It only took an hour or two before it started sticking to the ground. I picked Kaleb up from school around 11:30 and he kept telling me about the "snowman" falling outside. The weather was rainy most of the way home into Houston, but right as we got into our neighborhood the snow started pouring down and sticking to the ground. We took naps, then went to play outside. This was Kaleb's first time to play in the snow! At first he was not too sure about it...
It took a lot of convincing, but he finally figured it out! (We had to tell him it was ice...he loves to play with ice!)
Footprints in the snow...
Daddy and Kaleb...
Once Daddy showed him how, Kaleb loved to throw snowballs into the street!
It's been a lot of fun since we don't get to see this kind of weather much. I can still look out the back window and see a white yard! It is supposed to stay frozen all night! Stay warm!
