Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, we packed up and headed up to Lake Granbury for a weekend full of fun! Here is Kaleb talking to Mimi on the phone making last minute preparations for the trip. Goofy boy!
Here's Kevin and I on Saturday Night at my friend Laura and Jeremy's wedding.
"The 7" guys...
Kaleb hanging out with Uncle Kasey...
Mama and Kaleb on the boat! Every time the boat would start, he would immediately lay down on my chest. When we would stop, he'd pop right back up. He did this the entire time he was on the boat.
After the boat ride, Buck took Kaleb for a swim... He loved it!
happy to be out!
Kaleb on his first tube ride...
family picture...
He really did like the water once he got in and realized he could stand up!

We had a great time and can't wait to get back up there very soon! I kept forgetting that we still had two more weeks of school. We're now at 6 days and can't wait to go to the Frio River!

"made a mess!"

We had thought we had heard Kaleb put 2 or 3 words together a couple of times, but were never quite sure. This evening though we were at dinner and any time any one of us would spill anything on the table, Kaleb would tell us "made a mess"! When we got home I had to get it on video, so here it is...

Happy Mommy's Day!

Here are a few photo highlights from the week...
Kaleb running around the house wearing Daddy's shirt...
On Saturday it was hot enough to get the water toys out. We bought a water table Friday night so Kaleb got to try it out for the first time. He had a blast!
We also set up his little swimming pool. He had a good time investigating it for awhile before he ever got in.

Kaleb's new trick.... Show me your muscles! It's hilarious! He sticks his arms straight out, grunts, and makes this face.
The video says it all...

More to come soon about our trip to the Art Car Parade!

20 more days!

So the countdown has begun....Sorry it has been so long for an update, but I've got no time left over between work and my family lately. The end of the school year is quickly approaching and there's still a lot to get done! But anyway...about Kaleb...that's why you're reading this, right?
Kaleb is feeling much better since the last post. We did talk to his pediatritian who referred us to an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Specialist. We went to the ENT and had Kaleb's hearing tested. He did very well and is hearing normally which was actually very surprising to the doctor since there was still fluid in Kaleb's ears left over from the previous infections. Basically he said that Kaleb is definitely a candidate for ear tubes considering his history of ear infections (5 since December), but since his hearing isn't being affected, it's not really necessary at this point. There are also some other factors we looked at....he's only got 4 more weeks in day care before he's out for the summer... the big winter, spring time sick/allergy season is coming to an end... and he's getting older and should hopefully outgrow this soon. So, we've decided to wait it out and see if we can get over this without the surgery.
Here's what we've been up to lately... Mimi and Mama took Kaleb to the park to play last weekend. Here he is chasing a squirrel...
runnin' around the park...
Mimi babysat Kaleb so Mama and Dada could go to the Dave Matthews Band concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion. We very rarely get pictures together anymore...
Mimi and Kaleb before she left us... He can definitely say her name now...
Thanks Mimi for babysitting!
Kaleb and Dada walking to church... The picture's a little blurry, but he was so cute that day.
